2009 Summer INSET
for 4th Year High School Teachers

14-16 May 2009—over 431 Education Service Contracting-Education Voucher System (ESC-EVS) schools in the Bicol Region have participated in this summer's In-Service Training (INSET) for fourth year high school teachers.

The objectives of the INSET are to discuss what teaching for understanding means, describe the stages in the Fund for Assistance to Private Education (FAPE) Learning Package (LP) which reflect teaching for understanding, point out the LP integration of the Understanding by Design (UbD) framework, and write a draft of a learning package assigned to fourth year level competencies.

The training was designed to enhance and strengthen the 4th year teachers' competencies and skills and to update them with contemporary pedagogy on teaching-learning process. There were 5 subject areas: English, Math, Physics, Filipino and Economics.
