Rex Perez AB Journalism 2

Once again, The Ateneo de Naga University college students came to school in their business/corporate attire during the 4th University Dress-Up Day held last 18 February 2009.

This activity is a formation initiative under the Ignatian Formation Program as a way to prepare the students for their professional life where appropriate grooming and clothing is expected. This semestral event also aims to build their confidence and enhance their skills in public relations.

Like young promising executives, the students manifested a youthful vibe of professionalism around the campus. Even the administrators and members of the faculty & staff expressed their support by also dressing up for the occasion.

Statistical feedback from previous University Dress-Up Days showed a rising number of respondents who said that the activity was beneficial. From 74 % in 17 July 2007 to 82% in 20 February 2008, positive response rose to 86% in 30 July 2008.

This semester, majority of the feedback from students, administrators, and members of the faculty & staff were also positive, saying that it was indeed good for the students to have a feel of the working world. Though some still found it uncomfortable and even inconvenient to participate in this activity because of the scorching weather, most students said that their confidence rose as they felt more respectable and dignified thanks to their professional get-up.
